Sue Woodall

Founder | General Manager

What many don’t know about Sue is that in 2004-5 she led legislative change in NSW to enable food businesses to donate excess food to charities, without civil liability.  It is called the Good Samaritan Legislation and enables organisations like OZ Harvest to repurpose food.

Sue’s career has been dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in procurement.  This includes over 30 years’ executive experience working in consulting, and operations in complex industrial, technology, retail, financial services, and government sectors.  Most of the roles have had a global scope in companies like American Express, Qantas, EDS and Orica, both here in Australia and Singapore.  After returning to Australia in 2017, she set up a consulting business which was a fantastic experience.

In 2019, Sue was recruited by NSW Government, as their Chief Procurement Officer.  In this role Sue was responsible for driving social and commercial outcomes for the State, influencing spend of more than $30Bil, huge responsibility, and one she loved.

While working for NSW Government, Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer (ER+ / HER2) in 2020 and left her role in 2022 due to the long-term impact cancer treatments had on her health.

Sue is now a passionate advocate, striving for improved workplace outcomes for individuals with cancer, and she has founded LiveWorkCancer® to make a difference

2023 has been a big year for Sue:

  • trained and certified as a Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) Consumer Representative, part of BCNA’s Seat At The Table (SATT) program, and recently appointed to BCNA’s inaugural Consumer Advisory Group

  • joined the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) Financial Toxicity Working Group

  • presented Posters at COSA Cancer Survivorship Conference, Cancer Institute NSW Innovation Conference, and Cancer NSW Annual Conference.

Sue’s values of integrity, respect, performance, collaboration, personal development, and social responsibility underpin everything she does!
